Christmas 2017 Chocolate Gifts October 24 2017
For this year’s Christmas chocolate gifts our team have created some very special limited edition chocolate boxes based on two iconic Christmas beverages – Mulled Wine and the Snowball Cocktail.
Our Snowball Truffles celebrate the iconic Christmas cocktail made with Advocaat liqueur. We started with a smooth white chocolate ganache then blended in Advocaat liqueur and a splash of cognac, finally adding in notes of lemon and lime and finished the truffles with a dusting of icing sugar to give them a truly Christmassy look. Limited Edition of 250 Boxes for a unique gift this season.
Our mulled wine truffles have been created by starting with a classic milk chocolate ganache and blending in port, warming spices including clove and cinnamon with a hint of orange to give this truffle a signature Christmas feel. This chocolate truffle has a unique finishing made from cocoa powder and the 'superfood' - spirulina! Limited Edition of 250 Boxes.
Vegan Chocolates October 19 2017
With an increasing number of people choosing to adopt a Vegan diet, we took the bold step to begin developing chocolates and omitting the typical dairy ingredients. Making a non-dairy chocolate truffle may sound fairly easy but the starting point of many good truffles is chocolate, cream and sometimes butter. One of the team here at The London Chocolate Co is very much an advocate of healthy eating and fitness, he suggested that we try to include coconut oil into our non-dairy truffle recipe, so we started to experiment replacing the cream in our chocolate ganache with cold pressed coconut oil. After a few weeks we were happy with the basic non-dairy chocolate ganache so we moved onto the next challenge of choosing some flavours.
The first obvious choice was coconut, the pairing of coconut and chocolate has been around since at least the 1950’s, the coconut gives a fresh, sweet, aromatic and nutty flavour to the chocolate and so to our simple non-dairy dark chocolate ganache with coconut oil we added desiccated coconut, creating a truffle that not only tastes delicious but looks pretty great too.
For the second flavour we decided to go with the classic combination of chocolate and orange, creating a rich dark chocolate truffle with fruity notes of essential orange oil. The truffles are decorated with natural freeze dried orange and mango powder.
The third truffle to join our vegan chocolate selection is a dark chocolate truffle blended with London Gin; we decided to go with gin due to the popularity of our gin and tonic truffle and our raspberry gin truffle and of course at the request of our delightful customers!
As we continue to innovate in our development kitchen, we’re currently working on a dark chocolate and coffee truffle which should be available in the next few weeks. As you can imagine the scent in our kitchen is amazing these days - there's nothing quite like the aroma of dark chocolate and fresh espresso.

Single Origin Dark Chocolate Truffles May 17 2017
In principle a dark chocolate truffle sounds pretty simple to make and there are a wide variety available in the marketplace today, usually produced by just making a dark chocolate ganache (chocolate and cream) and piping it into a chocolate shell. When we decided to take on the challenge of creating a dark chocolate truffle we knew in true London Chocolate style it would have to be something extraordinary…
Our expert chocolatiers started with a premium quality 67% single origin Madagascar dark chocolate, specially selected for its taste and rich aroma before adding cream and roasted cacao nibs to create a ganache with a distinct chocolaty flavour. The truffles are beautifully finished with 60% dark chocolate flakes to give them a unique texture and an intense chocolate taste.
The truffles are presented in our signature gift box and available to purchase online

Valentine’s 2017 Chocolate Gifts January 23 2017
This year we set out to create two very different and distinctive chocolate truffles to celebrate Valentine’s Day. First in development was our Pink Champagne truffle, by combining two of the most popular romantic treats (chocolate and champagne!) we created a smooth and sweet milk chocolate ganache blended with Marc De Champagne and to make the truffles extra special we detailed each one with a hand piped heart shape before placing them into our signature gift box.
The second truffle in our Valentine collection is a step away from tradition and something admirers of dark chocolate will appreciate. The truffle has a rich dark chocolate ganache and notes of zesty passion fruit for a very moreish treat. Perfect with a fine wine or coffee, the truffles are presented in our signature gift box which is tied with a red satin ribbon.
The Limited Edition Valentine’s Chocolate Gifts are now available to purchase online.
Christmas Chocolates November 10 2016
'Tis the season...
It’s always fun when the team here at The London Chocolate Co have to create new chocolates – but it’s particularly exciting when we’re taking on the challenge of developing chocolates for Christmas!
Our gin and tonic truffles have always been especially popular at Xmas time and we’re certain people will feel the same about the prosecco truffles this year but we also wanted to create a small batch of exclusive treats as an extra special gift, so when thinking about Christmas flavours we thought we’d start with none other than a gingerbread truffle – a smooth milk chocolate ganache infused with a subtle gingerbread spice mix, perfectly finished with a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar. Limited Edition of 100 boxes.
We then chose to create a Christmas chocolate treat for children to enjoy so what better than a milk chocolate lollipop with a snowflake pattern - ideal for Xmas parties and available in packs of 5, available exclusively at Not On The High Street.
Finally, something a little more sophisticated for Christmas – dark chocolate brandy truffles with a beautiful snowflake design… Limited edition of 100 boxes.
The 10 Best Coffee Shops in London May 27 2016
Here at The London Chocolate Company we know a thing or two about great coffee – probably because we get through enough of it in the day, everything from a Mocha (who doesn’t like the combination of coffee and chocolate!) to an energising Bulletproof coffee and whilst the big and often mediocre coffee chains are doing their best to squeeze into every corner of the capital, London now has a delightful array of artisan coffee shops and dedicated coffee bean roasters. So on a glorious weekend in London we decided to venture out and visit as many of them as we could, below is our top 10…
Workshop Coffee (various locations)
Workshop has a few coffee bars across London but it’s their award winning café and roastery in Clerkenwell that we love the most. Aside from their beautifully crafted coffees, they also serve delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner at this location and we’ve consistently found the service to be excellent. With plenty of seating you won’t be waiting long to enjoy this gem of a café. You can also purchase coffee and equipment either in the café or via their website and book a coffee masterclass to perfect your home brewing techniques.
The Attendant (Fitzrovia)
First and foremost this place is worth a visit just to see the location of this café – it resides in a beautifully transformed Victorian toilet that had originally been built around 1890! Just a 5 minute walk from Oxford Street, the coffee here is expertly crafted and the food is amazing. We only wish it was bigger as there isn’t much in the way of seating.
TAP Coffee (various locations)
There’s an infectious buzz when you walk into TAP’s coffee shops and whilst they’re not the quietest of places, they give you the sense of a thriving community. The food offering was by far one of the best we’ve seen in London’s artisan cafés and there was plenty of seating at the café we visited on Wardour Street. The coffee was robust and quite frankly delicious!
Kaffeine’s 2 trendy London locations are just a 5 minute walk from Oxford Street. They serve delicious Square Mile coffee and the quality of the food is outstanding. There’s something about the people here that make you feel they really care about the product and service they’re delivering to the customer and we like that very much.
Black Sheep Coffee (various locations)
We originally stumbled across Black Sheep Coffee at the Great Portland Street location which can be entered from inside the tube station and instantly fell in love with the branding and of course the coffee. The brilliantly branded cups with their bold logo and slogan “Leave The Herd Behind” we’re an instant hit with us. The fact they proudly serve bulletproof coffee and allow you to buy “suspended coffees” gives them bonus points from The London Chocolate Company team!
Taylor St Baristas (various locations)
When we visited this award winning café which is located just behind Bond Street Station and just a few minutes from the Selfridges end of Oxford Street, the first thing we noticed was the delightful array of salads, sandwiches and cakes on display. The coffees brought to our table were delicious and the service was excellent. The café has plenty of seating although it can get quite busy during lunch, oh and they’ve recently opened their first café in New York!
Nude Espresso (Brick Lane)
Nude espresso roast their own beans and you can tell – the coffee was by far one of the best we experienced. With plenty of seating, a fantastic selection of high quality food and service to compliment, this is definitely worth a special visit. Their distinctive coffee is also available to order online either whole bean or ground.
Ozone Coffee Roasters (Shoreditch)
Ozone is another of London’s coffee shops that actually roast their own beans and again you can taste the difference because the coffee is outstanding. We use the term “coffee shop” loosely here because the venue is more the size of a restaurant and provides high quality breakfast, lunch and dinner via the open kitchen at the centre of the café. Coffee beans and equipment can be purchased online.
Monmouth Coffee (various locations)
Monmouth have been roasting coffee in London since 1978 and today they still stand as one of the best in the business. We visited their original and buzzing Covent Garden location and whilst the queue was fairly long, we were served our flat whites promptly and the fresh chocolate truffles were excellent. There’s very limited seating at this location so you’ll probably do best to order a coffee ‘to go’ and enjoy the other beautiful sights of Covent Garden.
Sacred Coffee (various locations)
We visited Sacred Coffee in Westfield London (located in the atrium). All our coffees were carefully made and consistent – it’s by far the best coffee available in the shopping centre. The coffee at Sacred is rich and robust – just the way we like it and they make an excellent mocha which we love! There’s usually plenty of seating available and a variety of good quality food.
If you love coffee - take a look at our delicious Espresso Martini Chocolate Truffles.

A collection worthy of celebration October 20 2015
With the festive season fast approaching, here at The London Chocolate Company we thought about what our friends might like to give and receive as gifts. Our truffles have always been available in individual flavours but we felt that giving a gift, especially when attending a dinner party or visiting a family it would be nice to have a variety of truffles in a gift box to cater for different tastes – so we created our Signature Celebration Collection, featuring our Pink Champagne, Gin & Tonic, Ginger Beer and Salted Caramel Whisky truffles in a luxury gift box. For something extra special this year we’ve created a delightful Limited Edition Gin and Tonic Gift box which would make an ideal gift for a gin lover or food enthusiast.
Salted Caramel Whisky Truffles June 02 2015
A few weeks ago we launched our unique whisky truffles. There are lots of other whisky truffles available in the marketplace but being The London Chocolate Company we wanted to create something a little different. After testing a single malt whisky in a variety of ganaches, caramels and milk, white and dark chocolates; we added a little sea salt to our home made caramel and finally blended the silky mixture with a measure of whisky. Finally we piped the mixture into a dark chocolate shell and dusted the truffle with fine cocoa powder.
